the 53-year-old was killed. >> it's a shame. >> reporter: she was friendly and popular. she was an acupuncturist and she specialized in oriental medicine. she is a very good doctor. [ indiscernible ] >> she help all people free. don't charge money. >> reporter: this person of interest had on light pants, a green shirt and drove an infinite between the years of 2003 and 2008. and investigators are hoping this leads toens -- to answers about what happened. he could be the key to solving the murder. any piece of evidence that we have like this is crucial in determining and helping substantiate a timeline.

when she gave the speech. what was that like. well, i was the director of the special olympics at the time. you get in and everyone's excited and everything. but, she was the star. she told them, you've earned all that you're going to get and the athletes, they're like, maybe we have. that was the beauty of working with her. she could be demanding and a tough woman, but, boy, she knew why we were there. >> so much credit is given to founding the special olympics. , it seems like it got to the point where it was transcending the athletic part of it. >> well, what we found, she always knew it and the rest of sports gives you the confidence to do so many other things and once they had the confidence to do what they wanted on the

field, it was like, well, i can talk for myself. i can go and get a job, i can live on my own and get married and have a full, productive wonderful life. it was because they got the confidence on the field. there and part of the motto was to be brave. when they hear something like that -- when they hear it from her. they looked up to her, what did that do for them? the idea of you don't always have to winch win -- win. >> that was a huge step and now, it's, what? you're going to win sometimes and sometimes you won't, that's life and that's okay. you don't have to make it look like, well, everything's great, well, that's part of it. they had pride in the fact that

their biggest deficit is us. id you get the sense that she also gained from the process over the years. >> yeah, that was the big thing, you could tell she was recharging batteries every time that an athlete was around. and when i was a volunteer, a state director coming in. she insist that had we go in and talk to us and ask us, what's going on. how are the families and are the athletes okay. everyone would come in and anyone else come anything while she was talking to an athlete, i don't envy the person. ole were you've work -- well, you've worked with a lot of the athletes and they're saker in the community. when you look at the legacy layed now. how do you see this moving forward now. what you'll see is focusing in on what was her vision. it was sports, support for the
